Single-use Solutions Webinar

WEBINAR

SINGLE-USE SOLUTIONS

December 11, 2020

1 day, 4 live sessions

Single-use solutions are becoming more and more relevant in more and more applications in the whole life-science industry. Thurne has been offering solutions for containment of potent and/or hazardous powders, filtration solutions, and handling of liquids for many years, and with this webinar, we want to give an up-to-date picture of our capabilities by having four suppliers presenting typical applications and solutions as well as describing some case studies as examples.

This FREE LIVE event will feature 4 webinar sessions by leading experts from 4 major single-use equipment manufacturers. Brought to you by Thurne in collaboration with Andocksysteme, Lugaia, Parker, and Filtrox, this webinar will take place on December 11th, 2020 from 10:00 – 15:00 p.m. (+1 GMT) split into 4 sessions. The webinar language is English.

Topics and technologies covered will include:

      • Containment principals, interface and packaging technologies
      • Top 4 drivers and benefits for SUT including applications and solutions
      • Implementation of singleuse containment solutions in a Pharma plant
      • Live demonstration of singleuse equipment as isolators, transfer bags, closure continuous liner systems.
      • Single-use reinvented – customized single-use assemblies for bioprocess applications.
      • Fluid management and automated single-use filtration systems.
      • A new approach for single-use clarification of biological solutions.
      • Reduce the clarification process from two steps to one by use of single-use alluvial filtration.

4th SESSION – December 11th at 14:00 CET

New approach for single-use clarification of biological solutions

Filtrox focuses on in-depth filtration, which means the removal of solid particles in the size of 0.1 to 10 microns, generally referred to as microfiltration. Typical microparticles are bacteria, yeast cells, cell fragments, or proteins. These particles are not visible to the human eye, but they make the liquid turbid so that one cannot see through. Through microfiltration, the liquid becomes clear.

The audience will be acquainted with the first depth filter system using the advantages of the alluvial (specifically cake or precoat) filtration technology in a single-use format. We will highlight the filtration system that removes particles (e.g. cells, bacteria, yeast), impurities like HCP, DNA, and other turbid matter. The webinar topic will include the system which is fully scalable and fulfills all validation requirements. We will provide examples of some typical applications such as CHO cell removal and bacterial removal and an explanation of practical handling and scale-up.
